Pregnancy Associated Stroke
WHAT IS STROKE?
Stroke is a medical name for blood spilling into the brain that kills brain cells. There are two types of strokes, the one where a blood clot creates blood vessels that plunge and where there is plentiful bleeding. Symptoms of stroke can be seen when a person can not move one side of the body, more difficult to speak, has dizziness, loses sight on one side. Symptoms appear an hour after stroke.
RISKS OF STROKE
The highest risk is high blood pressure. Other causes include smoking, high cholesterol, diabetes, alcohol use and previous minor strokes, the use of narcotics, unhealthy diet. One cigarette can even cause a stroke a day. Alcohol increases blood pressure, which is in the 35-50% cause, and automatically increases the risk of stroke. A migraine, another cause that increases the chance of stroke. Severe physical activity is 26% culpable for stroke.
HOW TO DISCOVER DO WE HAVE STROKE?
With many analyzes, it is possible to find out whether there is a chance of a stroke. One of the best and most famous methods is the CT scanner, which scans our head and shows the clogged blood vessels in the image. Another possible way is the MRI scanner using x-rays to detect thrombus. The next way of breaking the stroke is the Doppler ultrasound that shows the movement of the fluid and thus shows if there is a possibility of blockage.
CAN WE AVOID STROKE?
If symptoms are observed at the time, there is a chance for surgery if there are no major complications. The surgery must be performed within the first 7 hours after symptoms have occurred.
CAN PREGNANT women HAVE STROKE?
Although it is unusual, it is not impossible for pregnant women to have a stroke. The percentage of stroke reduces due to years of pregnancy that are most commonly between 25 and 35 years old. It is almost impossible to have a stroke, because of the change in blood circulation itself, the possibility of stroke is increased. Viral diseases that attack a pregnant woman can exacerbate the whole condition of both the earlier and the later pregnancy. Therefore, pregnant women must be aware of stroke that can affect them during pregnancy and prevent early stroke. Tests, heart control, history of a disease, vital signs are performed right away. This is necessary because the symptoms of brain stroke imitate the pathogen of other common diseases. After all of these examinations, if the possibility of a stroke is still involved, the brain is taken. Although it is very risky for a baby, it’s better to work so as not to get even worse.
